The aim is to provide ample time to explore the fishing potential of the lakes and rivers in comfortable Hobie Kayaks. The secret weapon is the Mirage pedal drives that let you use your legs to propel the kayak, leaving your hand free to steer, fish, take photos or simply just take it all in

Your guide are both knowledgeable and passionate about the Tasmania

We all enjoy fishing but are by no means expert fishermen. If you want to improve your skills we may be able to have a certified expert, guide the tour at additional cost

Day 1 -Launceston to Huntsman's Lakes

An hours drive from Launceston this lake is one of only a few to offer year round fishing. Luckily it's regularly stocked with Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout
Pick up about 7:30am

Huntsman's Lake is nestled at the base of the Western Tiers. Surrounded by forests and rich dairy country it offers great scenery of rural Tasmania

Great fishing opportunities in the morning, ideally suited to boats and kayaks. Picnic lunch after fishing.

As you would expect from the area there are many natural wonders and foodie places to explore. The Marakoopa or Mole Creek Caves are a short drive away and the guided tours showcase some remarkable cave geology. There are also some caves to free explore (weather dependant - no ropes, harnesses its a nice place to explore for an hour and take some photos)

The foodie options are diverse with inland salmon farm and smoke house, many small goods, chocolate and cheese artisans. And it wouldn't be Tasmania without a selection of craft beer, wine and spirits

We return to local accommodation for a relaxing meal

Day 2 - More fishing or exploring

Return to Launceston between 4 and 5:30 pm

Morning fishing back at Huntsman's Lake for those keen to bag some trout. An option to try another lake or the middle reaches of the Tamar River

After lunch we are well placed to explore the Tamar Valley to sample some of the the famous cool climate wines. The exact combinations of wineries can be tailored to your preferences

The beauty point attractions of Sea Horse World and Platypus House are a amazing way to see these fascinating creatures up close
